technocator: A Simple Method to Download Youtube Video Without Using Any Software

There are plenty of software and web links available which helps to download Youtube video. But in fact, to download Youtube video does not require a software or copy paste the link anywhere. Once you play a video in Youtube, it will be completed downloaded to your computer, but it will be hidden inside your browser's settings folder in an unknown file format. In this post, I will explain you how to download a Youtube video using Google Chrome browser in few simple steps.

Step 1: Open your Chrome browser, launch Youtube and play your favorite video, which you want to download. Wait until the video streams completely. You can pause the video and wait till the brown stream line reach at the end of the video. See the arrow mark in the below picture:

Step 2: Open the below folder location in your computer. In fact, this is the location where Chrome browser stores its temp files.

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache

Make sure that you have changed the Username in red to the actual user name of your computer.

Step 3: Now you can see many files in the above location. Sort those files by date. So that recent files will come on the top. See below picture for example.

Right click on the first file you see there, and open it with a media player such as Windows Media player or VLC. Make sure to open files with bigger size. For example files bigger than 2000 KB.

Step 4: Once you confirm its playing the video that you really want to download, copy the file to your desktop, and give it mp4 file extension. Just right click the file and open the Properties. Now under General tab, Type in the name video1.mp4, and click Apply and OK.
