I just surprised to see a mail in my Yahoo mailbox today. At first glance, it looks like exactly sent from Yahoo email team, asking to verify your account. Many people who are not so much vigilant about this kind of fraud might have been a victim of these kinds of emails. The email body reads:
“This email is from Yahoo!!! Customer Care and we are sending it to every Yahoo!!! Email User Accounts Owner for safety. We are having congestions due to the anonymous registration of Yahoo!!!...........”
See the full email in the below picture:

How did I recognize this is a fraud email? Here is some point that might help you to identify a fraud mail:

•    Yahoo! Will never ask your user name or password through email.
•    See the way Yahoo is written, Yahoo!!! Instead of Yahoo!
•    There are many typos in the body of the mail.
•    Verify the hyperlink provided with the mail, it’s going to https://docs.google.com !!
•    And finally, from address is something@ymail.com, yahoo will never send official mails from ymail.com.

Don’t click on any such hyperlinks carried by these kinds of emails. If you are curious enough, just copy the link and paste it in another browser. It’s a form created in Google Docs. See the picture below:

If  you provide your ID and password there, it will be send to scammer’s mailbox.
A Scammer is trying to hi-jack your email address to spam all your contacts and then use the account to spam hundreds/thousands of others.

Yahoo or any other email providers will never ask for your password, pin or date of birth. No exception ever. Just beware, don’t provide any details even just out of curiosity.
In case you are getting fraud emails frequently, you can report it through Yahoo! Mail Abuse Form, providing the source email ID and other details, especially content of the email. Once verified, Yahoo will permanently delete scammers email ID.
