Search engine giant, Google inc. has recently acquired a new domain name space, g.co, which expected to be one of the smallest domain name space. Google plans to use this domain as part of their URL shortner service. Currently Google is using goo.gl for URL shortening. But as of now, g.co is used only for Google's official websites and not available for public usage. Its "Google’s official URL shortcut just for Google websites, Whenever you see a short “g.co” link, you can trust that it
will always take you to a Google product or service" - Google says. For the first few months since goo.gl was introduced, it was available only for Google's private use. But later it was opened for public use, similarly we can hope that g.co will also be available for public use soon.
