Gmail launches new feature: Importance Markers

Gmail has now launched a new feature called Importance Marker, which will help you to sort the emails in your inbox as important or not important. This is similar to outlooks Flag option. Once you select your email as important, you can view a tab in left pane just below the inbox menu, called 'Important'. By clicking on that menu you can view all the important mails you have already marked. If the mail is already attended or solved, you can click on 'mark as non-important' button.
This feature is being rolled out since this morning, and when you open your gmail inbox you can view the below message:

Once you click OK, the option will be enabled, and you can view an option in the left pane, to sort the important mails, as seen in the below picture:

If you prefer, you can hide these markers. Just go to the Priority Inbox tab of your Gmail settings and select the No markers option in the Importance markers section.
Gmail treats these markers like labels, so you can search for messages that are important by using the search operator ‘is:important’.
